During Vesak this year, I helped
out at the big tent in front of Aljunied MRT station celebrating the occasion.
It was abuzz with activity and throughout the day and night, the air was
filled with devotional music and chanting. All of it was soothing and
holy, but it seemed that some of the CDs selected reverberated long after
they were played, in fact, I was still chanting and singing their sweet,
pure melodies days after the celebrations ended. When I, rather embarrassedly
sang a few bars to the CD stall staff, they gave a knowing nod and said
two words - Imee Ooi.
Imee is an amazing anomaly. Blessed with great talent and gift for making
things happen despite seemingly insurmountable challenges, she is also
not at all ambitious or driven in grasping way. She just does what she
loves and makes it available for us to enjoy. She's a true example of
a sincere practitioner.

Imee Ooi has such a strong metta in her voice. I strongly feel The Chant
of Metta is really rediating her metta towards all beings. It touches
my heart instantly. Please tell her to keep up with her wholesome action.

My Heartiest congratulations to Imee Ooi for her impeccable music rendition
of "The Chant of Metta". I wish to spread the beautiful teachings
of The Buddha to as many people as I can, and the best tool to use is
the great music done by Imee.

Traditional Buddha sutras are often too complicated
to understand and not easy to interpret without guidance. However, when
they received a music that conform to their thinking and understanding,
they will associate with it and the music will aspire, relax and lead
their mind to the true facts of life. In this regards, your music have
done a wonderful job to fulfill this spiritual gap by bringing the teaching
to everyone in a practical and effective way.

Her voice has a soothing sweetness reminiscent of Enya, but with a spiritually
sincere Asian sound and sensibility.

We are veri interested in recording "The Chant of metta: with spanish

in our language will make people in the Spanish- speaking countries aware
of Buddha's teaching.

.
We looked at your CDs and found them extremely nice.

Imee Ooi, an unassuming lady with the voice that resembles that of the
internationally acclaimed Enya, has brought to life a beautiful rendering
of the Metta chant. Her effort has practically popularized Pali chanting,
warpping up an ancient language
with the soothing melody and rhythm inspired by Gregorian plain song.
